Writing & Editing
Anthony Conroy began his career as a sports writer.
After spending years focusing on design, he swiched back
to writing, editing and communications. As a journalist, his stories
are a reflection of news events that were happening
at the time and reflect his ability to manage a diverse range
of topics, often in the same shift or news cycle. Since he has
a love for motorcycling, Conroy seized on opportunities to dip his toes into adventure writing for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette,
where he did reviews of different vehicles, covered motorcycling trips to upstate New York and Columbus, Ohio, and provided coverage of MotoAmerica's annual visit to Western Pennsylvania. He also wrote several feature articles/profiles for Cafe Racer Magazine, which covers a specialty segment of the motorcycling market.
______________
As an editor, Conroy was often assigned the task of providing
first-read edits to the publication's youngest writers and interns,
giving them valuable feedback to help them grow as writers and
journalists. He also helped coordinate and edit the ongoing coverage that was required in the aftermath of the October 2018 mass
shooting of the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, several visits
by presidents, vice presidents, candidates, heads of state,
and many other important news events.
